I have a question for you, dear reader. How am I doing with making the Healers Bloom News more entertaining and fun than the average email that drops into your Inbox? At the same time, providing healers and coaches with value.

I was hoping to include a beautiful video each week, but it is not as simple as I expected. There’s one at the end of the post. Is it worth the effort? Opinions?

Perfectionism & Your Business ~ May’s Theme

I had a different Perfectionism video ready to go for this week’s newsletter. It completely fit with the “I don’t know how” theme that I’ve followed this week. And I switched it.

I’m going along doing the ‘normal’ things for my business, like preparing this newsletter. And there’s a tech glitch. You know what that’s like, huh. Yeah, it’s ho-hum everyday kind of stuff. And it’s annoying as #&%* when it happens. Right? Don’t lie to me now. You know you react.

Immediately, I was like 💥 Pow. Want to punch somebody. Well, not really, but you know what I mean.

The reality of life is that sometimes the s—#&%* hits the fan. And you just have to deal.

Do You Love Your Website Bio?

Hi Sandra and friends!

Sandra, thanks for the invite to share about perfectionism.

Last week I hosted an event called the Bio Refresh Party. I articulated a few thoughts about perfectionism while writing and updating the About Me or Bio page on my website.

Perfectionism can be so tough when editing an About Page.

I have no problem with wanting perfection. I totally am a perfectionist and I have come to own it and see there's a good side to it. 

But I know the difference between fact and fiction. I can be inspired by perfection, but at the end of the day, doing it well enough can be great, too. 

Perfection is an ideal that we hope to meet, and we don't always actually meet it. But website bios are impossible because they reflect the person they are about, who is growing and constantly leaving any description lagging behind. 

When writing and feeling blocked by perfectionism, it's good to check, if you really want to be perfect. What's the goal?

For my website bio, I don't want to be perfect. The kiss of death is not imperfection. The kiss of death is being boring!!

The kiss of death is, "I just saw your website, and I clicked away and I never thought about you again for the rest of my life." 

The real goal is making them feel something, helping them remember. Creating a connection professionally, but also emotionally. Sharing a cute hobby, photo, or your personality.

So there you have it! My thoughts on perfectionism and what really matters when writing your 'perfect' website bio.

Sandra’s notes: About #1 and flawless execution. I feel compelled to make Healers Bloom perfect. Impossible, I know. And right now, I have a s—#&%* ton to do. So I am allowing myself to not do everything the way my mind things I ‘should.’ No Canva cover for the video with an image from the video in the little screen. Will anybody even notice or care? Probably not. But these are the compulsions that come with perfectionism.

About #2 and evolutionary perspective. Certainly perfectionist tendencies and behaviors develop as survival mechanisms, and sometimes they contribute survival advantages. Thank goodness for that.
